Student Internships

Georgetown University students with an interest in consulting, higher education administration, financial administration or project management are encouraged to apply for one of our paid internships.

We are particularly interested in sophomores and juniors who can grow with our team throughout their academic career at Georgetown and welcome but do not require a 12-month commitment. Many of our interns have grown within the BDOG program for 2-3 years. Click here to meet the current and past interns!

Application Information

The application for the Summer and Academic Year 2024-25 internship is closed.  We anticipate beginning the application process for the Summer and Academic Year 2025-26 internship in February 2025 and encourage you to check back for updates then.

Feel free to reach out to any of the current interns for guidance about the application process.

After an initial resume screening, applicants will sit for a short, 20-minute interview with two current BDOG interns. If the candidate passes the first round, he/she will then interview with two current full-time on the BDOG team. The interviews are mostly behavioral (with potentially a small market sizing/problem-solving question) and will ask you to discuss your past experiences and showcase your fit for the internship program.

Requirements

While flexibility will be given to class schedules, hours worked must fall within university business hours (8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) Interns are expected to be able to commit 10-15 hours per week to work on assignments. This is a remote position.

As an intern, you will be given the opportunity to work under the guidance of our team members on a variety of projects that will supplement your learning. Duties may include the following:

  • Conduct focused market research on guided industry topics
  • Analyze datasets
  • Develop presentations and case studies
  • Assist with stakeholder interviews for new and existing projects
  • Take formal minutes for project meetings
  • Other duties and opportunities to develop skills as assigned

  • A Georgetown undergraduate freshman, sophomore, or junior or a Georgetown graduate student who is graduating no earlier than May 2024 and has fewer than two years of full time work experience
  • No experience or specific major of study required
  • Results-driven and inquisitive, with a potential to work both independently and collaboratively with others

Benefits of BDOG

Mentorship is a critical aspect of the BDOG internship experience. Each intern is paired with both a mentor on the full time team and peer mentor on the intern team. Mentors often help mentees explore career areas of interest, write their resume & cover letter, and prepare for interviews.

As an intern at BDOG, you will gain transferable skills in areas such as research, communication, data analysis, client interaction, and critical thinking. You will work on projects that are strategic in nature and have a high impact on the university, often receiving visibility by senior leaders (CFO, VP, deans, etc).

Past BDOG interns have successfully secured internships and full time jobs in consulting, investment banking, venture capital, and data science working for companies such as Bain, BCG, Goldman Sachs, Capital One, Apple, Cornerstone Research, and others. They often cite the mentorship and training they receive at BDOG as a key driver in their success in the interview process and internships.

For questions about the role or future openings please contact Hannah Hahn, or one of the current interns.
